Recent Projects and Funding
Activate Village
In August 2020, Activate submitted an application to LCR Cares for funding to erect an arts & crafts activity centre which would enable us to provide a platform to prepare students for adulthood by giving them the opportunity to learn and develop life and work skills in a realistic work place environment.
Activate Village consists of The Coppice Coffee Shop, which was self-funded by the college, and The Village Arts & Crafts and Farm Shops. These required external funding from LCR Cares and will over the next few years develop into a community hub for students and local residents.
SoundBeam
In 2021, Activate successfully applied for funding through the Radcliffe Trust to acquire a SoundBeam system; this is an award-winning musical device that uses sensor technology to translate movement into music and sound.
Soundbeam can be activated and played either via switches or completely ‘touch free’ – sensors are able to translate small movements, such as a finger tap or even an eye blink, into music.
Experience Days
Activate are supported by the Experience Days charity scheme.
Experience Days provide nationwide gift experiences. Activate have kindly been donated gift certificates for events such as our annual Christmas and Summer fayres.
