Community Links

Community Links gives our learners the opportunity to build positive relationships in the local community and explore the partnerships that we have built college-wide via the CAT (Careers and Transitions) Team. We currently have partnerships with organisations such as Home Bargains, Tree Tots day nursery, Arc Equestrian centre, Wheels for All and local libraries and galleries.

The subject incorporates functional areas for development through specific learning areas such as road safety,  stranger danger, accessing public transport and money management. Community Links also has termly themes like shopping, organising fundraising events, personal purchases and community fundraising.

Learners develop their independence, functional choice-making and self-advocacy skills while they out are in the community.
