The Communication Pathway provides learners with undeveloped social skills and communication the tools and skills for more independent living and choice making.
What you will do
Learners are provided with a highly individualised timetable which ensures their EHCP outcomes and specific support needs are met. Choices are centered around preparing for adulthood, likes, dislikes, engaging with the community, etc. using a personalised and consolidated communications strategy.
What you will learn
Learners who are studying on this pathway will focus on developing their ability to communicate their wants and needs. They will participate in activities where they will be able to show preferences and develop more independence and self-regulation skills for social situations.

Length of course
Possibility of up to 3 years with a decision being made on a case by case basis.
Qualifications
Learners may work towards an Open Awards Entry Level 1 Qualification in Personal Progress if appropriate.
What’s Next
Our Careers and Transition (CAT) Team will work with learners to explore their post-education options. These may include moving to Supported Living, accessing Day Services, Supported Internships or Volunteering.
