Our Subjects
All students at Activate follow an individualised timetable which has been tailored to their likes and interests.
Students on all of our curriculum pathways may study some of the following subjects, with individualised activities as part of each session.
Animal Care
Activate has an accessible animal centre where our students can learn how to take care and look after our animals.
Animal Care includes the care of our livestock including sheep, horses and poultry as well as smaller animals like hamsters, mice, guinea pigs and our aquatic animals.
Students are involved in the feeding, grooming and general health & wellbeing of all our onsite animals.
Our Animal Care lessons help our learners develop their independence, motor skills, confidence and functional skills.

Horticulture
Students learn about planting seeds, crop rotation, companion planting and looking after plants as they grow.
Activate has an accessible horticulture space with raised beds where students help with the upkeep of our crops and vegetables to harvest fresh produce.
